Gorgeous, heavy, solid brass mortar & pestle found at a Porto, Portugal market.
Piece is sturdy and has green flet at bottom to protect your work surface. Traditionally used for pounding spices and herbs when cooking but with many more uses.
Lovely textured details make it unique. A fabulous piece of rustic, usable décor for any farmhouse or country kitchen. Will also make a great gift for a wiccan or a pharmacist.
In great vintage condition; some minor wear from years of use, but this is a heavy duty item with most likely another century of use still in it!
Mortar measures: 1 1/4" tall by 1 3/8" wide; Pestel measures 2 3/4" long
